PROJECT: MUSIC VIDEO // CLIENT: WARNER
What a lot of fun this was just before Christmas! A full-on high-energy performance video, with a twist, for the fantastic Clement Marfo & The Frontline, featuring Kano.
Known for their energetic and irrepressible live shows, last year saw CMFT gain early radio support from Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Semtex. They were also selected for MTV's 'Brand New for 2012' list and played live with a wide range of artists including Plan B, Example and Florence and The Machine.
This year the guys have already been nominated for T4's 'Rising Stars 2012' so keep you're eyes peeled and remember, you heard it here first!
Thanks to Sandra Ciampone for the great production stills. www.meorme.com

PROJECT: PROJECTION MAPPING // CLIENT: SONY ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK
Making of
We are very proud to bring to you a whole new batch of projection-mapping videos as part of our collaboration on the ongoing Marshmallow Laser Feast projects.
This time it was a project for Studio Output and their client Sony Playstation.
We wanted to push video mapping on from anything that has been done so far. Using live puppetry, 3D tracking, pyrotechnics (and a whole bunch of our friends' spare time) we transformed a room into three different vignettes. Can you guess the films?!
It was all lots of fun! A very big thank you to all our friends and Studio-Output for their support and putting their trust into our maverick efforts!

PROJECT: MUSIC VIDEO // CLIENT: SONY/SYCO
Our first big pop promo for Cher Lloyd's all important debut single, "Swagger Jagger". It was a highly ambitious project for what was Cher's first ever solo music video, with several different setups and locations, choreographed dance routines, breakdancers, green screen performances, a huge location shoot and a whole heap of CGI madness!
Working closely with Cher's brand/art directors Studio Output, we teamed up once again with our good friends at Mainframe who worked on a multitude of animations and visual effects to help us create Cher's 'urban wonderland'.

PROJECT: LIVE/INTERACTIVE // CLIENT: SAATCHI & SAATCHI
The Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase is one of the highlights of the Cannes Lions Festival. Their senior creative team, Jonathan Santana & Xander Smith, came up with the initial concept. ‘Hello Future’ - a dark, retro-futuristic setting with a ‘HAL-like' host.
We teamed up with our good friends and longtime collaborators Memo Atken (MSA Visuals) and Robin McNicholas (Flat-e) to direct the visual performance. We also created graphics for the ‘HAL’ character, the titles, and various other ‘interludes’.
We worked closely with Aaron Meyers who developed the kinect performance software for Jamie Lidell's section, and the stage, lighting and sound designers to pull together the overall look and feel.
We had a very interesting process for the creation of the content which was created on what we call 'the HAL Rig'. It is a very analogue process utilising found objects such as a step ladder, a couple of broom sticks, rear projection perspex, large metal bowl, bin bags, gaffer tape and glass prisms. These were then filmed with a handheld pointgrey dragonfly2, sending this live feed into a laptop running modul8. We then played with a few midi sliders and knobs to deform and affect the images in realtime which we then project onto perspex and film.
It was truly an amazing collaboration between so many talented people and we were lucky that the client had full faith in us to allow us to go as crazy as we wanted.
Behind the scenes documentation, videos and images coming soon...

'The Line' is our latest animated commercial for UBS and is a montage of various classic F1 circuits from around the world, see if you can spot 'em all!
The commercial was produced by Joyrider for Publics and was designed and animated along with the extremely talented boys over at Mainframe. Check out the second movie clip to see a breakdown of some of the pioneering techniques they employed to pull off what we needed.
